EXPERIENCE

 Founder of PRo-motion, Amanda Garner celebrates over 25 years experience as a journalist, newspaper editor, national freelance magazine writer, publicist, broadcast journalist, comedy writer, designer, printer, website designer and photographer.

 Amanda was also BBC Television's youngest ever comedy writer, aged 19 and the UK's youngest newspaper editor, aged 25.

 A member of The British Association of Journalists for 14 years, Amanda calls on associate specialists only when necessary, thereby minimising overheads and consequently maintaining low costs for her clients. 

 

CAREER RÉSUMÉ


Now aged 40, Amanda’s career path is as follows (detailed in an extensive portfolio):- 

    freelance writer for Coventry Citizen newspaper, aged 15, stories ranged from diary events to series of celebrity interviews
  publicity officer for Coventry’s Countryside Project, writing stories for local media and direct liaison with reporters, producing articles and photos for project’s own magazine
  junior reporter for local newspaper, promoted to chief reporter within a year and assistant editor a year later
  deputy editor of another newspaper, promoted to editor of two titles within same group after a year - making Amanda the country's youngest editor, aged 25
  freelance feature writer/photographer for national specialist, consumer, trade and lifestyle magazines - including most national women's magazines
   media relations officer for Extra Care (elderly  people's charity) - ie. activity-based care (outdoor pursuit  holidays etc).  Managing a range of local/national press, radio and television coverage
